Weeknight and after-school parties in Pickering
Pickering is one of our closest Durham stops, which makes weeknight parties easy to fit in. A 90-minute party after school or right after dinner covers the birthday without taking over a whole Saturday, and weeknight slots are usually easier to get than weekends.
It works for more than birthdays, too: end-of-season team parties, class celebrations and a reward night for a big report card all fit the same after-school slot.
How much a Pickering game truck party costs
Pick a length and the rest is included: the whole trailer, 100+ games and a Game Coach. Add the flat Pickering travel charge and HST, and the booking page shows your exact total before you pay.
| Party length | From | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 90 minutes | $429 | Younger kids and shorter afternoons |
| 2 hours | $479 | Most birthday parties |
| 3 hours | $629 | Big guest lists, schools and events |
Pickering neighbourhoods we cover
We bring the truck anywhere in Pickering at the same flat travel rate, from Bay Ridges and West Shore on the lake up to Duffin Heights, Seaton and Claremont. Driveways in Amberlea, Highbush and the newer Duffin Heights streets take the trailer easily; the older streets in Bay Ridges and West Shore can be tighter, in which case we park curbside. That covers Pickering's L1V, L1W, L1X and L1Y postal codes, plus Claremont. The new Seaton neighbourhoods have a lot of townhouses with short driveways, so there we usually park at the curb.
Schools, parks and community events in Pickering
We bring the truck to school fun fairs and PA days for the Durham District School Board and the Durham Catholic District School Board. Community and camp days at spots like Pickering Recreation Complex, Esplanade Park and Kinsmen Park work well too; the City of Pickering handles vehicle access in its parks, so check that first. How a game truck party works in Pickering
- Book online. Pick a package and a start time from the live calendar. Only genuinely open slots show, so whatever you can select is yours.
- We arrive 20–30 minutes early and set up on your driveway or the street outside. Your booked time is all gaming time.
- A Game Coach runs the party from start to finish, sorting teams, swapping players in and out and keeping everyone playing.
- We pack up and go. Nothing to clean, nothing to return, no gear left in your garage.
Game truck or party venue?
Most Pickering parents weigh a game truck against a trampoline park, bowling or an indoor playground. Here's the difference in practice.
| Video game truck | Party venue | |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Your driveway or street | Everyone drives there |
| Start time | Any open slot you pick | The venue's schedule |
| Weather | Climate-controlled, rain or shine | Fine indoors |
| Clean-up | None, we pack up and leave | Depends on the venue |
Video game truck questions from Pickering parents
How much does a game truck cost in Pickering?
Packages start at $429 for 90 minutes, $479 for two hours and $629 for three, plus a flat travel charge to Pickering and HST. The travel rate is the same wherever you are in town. The exact total for your date, travel included, shows on the booking page before you pay anything.
Will the truck fit in a Pickering driveway?
Almost always. We need about 30 to 32 feet, roughly three car lengths, on a reasonably flat surface. Most driveways in Amberlea, Highbush and the newer Duffin Heights streets take it comfortably. The older streets in Bay Ridges and West Shore can be tighter, in which case we park curbside instead. Send us a photo of the spot beforehand if you're unsure and we'll confirm.
Can we book a weeknight game truck party in Pickering?
Yes. Weeknights are often easier to book than weekends, and the 90-minute package fits nicely after school or after dinner. The booking calendar shows which weekday times are open.
Can you come to a Pickering school, park or community centre?
Yes, and we do a lot of them: fun fairs, PA days, graduations and camp activity days for schools in the Durham District School Board and the Durham Catholic District School Board. For a Pickering park or community centre, such as Pickering Recreation Complex, Esplanade Park or Kinsmen Park, check with the City of Pickering about vehicle access first; for a school, the principal or board facilities office can approve the spot. We provide insurance certificates on request. We bring our own power, so a field with no outlet is not a problem. See our school events page for how school bookings work.
What happens if it rains on party day?
The party goes ahead. Everyone plays inside the climate-controlled trailer, so rain, heat and cold don't matter. The only thing guests need is a short walk from the house to the door.
Do I need to provide power or Wi-Fi?
No. The truck runs on its own power and brings its own internet, so you don't need an outlet, an extension cord or your Wi-Fi password.
How early should I book a game truck in Pickering?
Weekend afternoons from April to October go first, so aim for three to four weeks ahead for those. Weeknights and the winter months are easier, often with a week's notice. The booking calendar only shows open slots, so you'll see straight away what's still free.
What ages is a game truck party good for?
Six to sixteen is the sweet spot, and most Pickering birthdays we run are eight to thirteen. Younger groups do fine because the Game Coach picks simpler titles like Mario Kart, Minecraft and Just Dance and keeps the rotation moving. We also run adult and corporate bookings, where the sports and retro games get the most play.
What are the best kids birthday party ideas in Pickering?
The usual options are trampoline parks, indoor playgrounds, bowling and booking a room at a Pickering community centre. They work, but you're on the venue's clock, you have to get everyone there, and you're often cleaning up afterwards. A video game truck comes to your address instead, so there's no venue to book, no driving and nothing to tidy when it leaves. For more, see our birthday ideas by age.
Do you serve the rest of Durham Region?
We do. Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa, along with neighbouring Scarborough and Markham are all regular stops, each with their own travel rate. Pick your city on the booking form and the fee is worked out for you.
