Why Markham parents pick Gamers Getaway
More than a thousand GTA parties in, we know what makes a game truck party work: a Game Coach who keeps the rotation fair, games that suit the age group, and a setup that doesn't take over your house. You might hear it called a game truck, a gaming truck or a video game bus; in Markham it's the same trailer and the same crew.

Teen birthday parties in Markham
By twelve or thirteen, a lot of Markham kids have outgrown bouncy castles and character parties, but they haven't outgrown gaming. A game truck works at that age because it's their thing, not a kids' party they're putting up with: sports titles, racing, battle games and VR, with a Game Coach who can set up a proper tournament so the competitive ones get a real winner.
Teen groups tend to be bigger, too. Fifteen can play at once, and for a larger group the Game Coach rotates players so everyone gets time on the screens.

Markham neighbourhoods we cover
We bring the truck anywhere in Markham at the same flat travel rate, from Thornhill and Milliken out to Cornell, Box Grove and Markham Village. Driveways in Angus Glen, Unionville and Berczy Village take the trailer easily; Cornell's laneway streets and the older lots in Markham Village can be tighter, in which case we park curbside. That covers Markham's L3P, L3R, L3S, L6B, L6C, L6E and L6G postal codes, plus the Markham side of Thornhill. Cornell's rear-lane homes usually mean we park on the street out front rather than in the lane.
Schools, parks and community events in Markham
We bring the truck to school fun fairs and PA days for the York Region District School Board and the York Catholic District School Board. Community and camp days at spots like Toogood Pond Park, Angus Glen Community Centre, Cornell Community Centre and the Markham Pan Am Centre work well too; the City of Markham handles vehicle access in its parks, so check that first. Game truck or party venue?
The usual Markham birthday is a trampoline park, an indoor playground or a community centre room. Here's how a game truck compares.
| Video game truck | Party venue | |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Your driveway or street | Everyone drives there |
| Start time | Any open slot you pick | The venue's schedule |
| Weather | Climate-controlled, rain or shine | Fine indoors |
| Clean-up | None, we pack up and leave | Depends on the venue |
Video game truck questions from Markham parents
How much is a video game truck party in Markham?
Packages start at $429 for 90 minutes, $479 for two hours and $629 for three, plus a flat travel charge to Markham and HST. The travel rate is the same wherever you are in town. The exact total for your date, travel included, shows on the booking page before you pay anything.
Will the truck fit in a Markham driveway?
Almost always. We need about 30 to 32 feet, roughly three car lengths, on a reasonably flat surface. Most driveways in Angus Glen, Unionville and Berczy Village take it comfortably. Cornell's laneway streets and the older lots in Markham Village can be tighter, in which case we park curbside instead. Send us a photo of the spot beforehand if you're unsure and we'll confirm.
Is a game truck good for a 13th birthday in Markham?
It's one of the best fits for that age. Teens get to play what they already love, with friends and a competitive setup, and parents get a party that runs itself. Tell us the age when you book and the Game Coach will line up games for that group.
Can you come to a Markham school, park or community centre?
Yes, and we do a lot of them: fun fairs, PA days, graduations and camp activity days for schools in the York Region District School Board and the York Catholic District School Board. For a Markham park or community centre, such as Toogood Pond Park, Angus Glen Community Centre, Cornell Community Centre or the Markham Pan Am Centre, check with the City of Markham about vehicle access first; for a school, the principal or board facilities office can approve the spot. We provide insurance certificates on request. We bring our own power, so a field with no outlet is not a problem. See our school events page for how school bookings work.
What happens if it rains on party day?
Yes. The gaming happens inside a heated and air-conditioned trailer, so a rainy afternoon, a heat wave or a January birthday all run the same way. Keep a towel by the door for wet shoes and you're set.
Does the game truck need power from my house?
No. The truck runs on its own power and brings its own internet, so you don't need an outlet, an extension cord or your Wi-Fi password.
How far ahead should I book in Markham?
For a Saturday or Sunday in spring or summer, three to four weeks is sensible, and popular dates go earlier than that. Weekday and winter bookings are usually available with a week or two's notice. The calendar shows live availability, so it's worth checking your date before assuming it's gone.
What age is a video game truck party best for?
Six to sixteen is the sweet spot, and most Markham birthdays we run are eight to thirteen. Younger groups do fine because the Game Coach picks simpler titles like Mario Kart, Minecraft and Just Dance and keeps the rotation moving. We also run adult and corporate bookings, where the sports and retro games get the most play.
What are the best kids birthday party ideas in Markham?
The usual options are trampoline parks, indoor playgrounds, bowling and booking a room at a Markham community centre. They work, but you're on the venue's clock, you have to get everyone there, and you're often cleaning up afterwards. A video game truck comes to your address instead, so there's no venue to book, no driving and nothing to tidy when it leaves. For more, see our birthday ideas by age.
Do you serve the rest of York Region?
We do. Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Aurora and Newmarket, along with neighbouring Scarborough and Pickering are all regular stops, each with their own travel rate. Pick your city on the booking form and the fee is worked out for you.
