Every PA day for 12 GTA and Hamilton school boards, plus March Break, winter break, long weekends and easy ideas for the day off.
GTA school boards each pick their own PA days, so a Toronto kid and a Mississauga kid often have different days off. Pick your board to see only your dates.
Every PA day from October to June, with a one-tap button to add your board's dates to your phone calendar.
These dates are the same for all 12 boards: winter break runs Dec 21, 2026 to Jan 1, 2027, and March Break is March 15 to 19, 2027.

When a PA day lands next to a holiday, kids get four days off in a row. These are the big ones this year.
Most other PA days fall on a Friday or Monday, which gives a 3-day weekend. They're marked in the calendar above.
PA day camps run from about 9am to 4pm and cost roughly $90 to $135 a day at the programs below, with extended care extra. City-run camps are often the most affordable, and spots go fast.
Museum-themed days with gallery visits and hands-on activities, on the TDSB and TCDSB PA days.
A PA day program built around the animals, split into two age groups.
Science, tech and art projects for younger kids, timed to the York Region PA days.
Full-day care for working parents, matched to local board PA days and school breaks.
The City's own day camps run on PA days at community centres across Toronto.
Outside Toronto, check your city's recreation department: Brampton, Vaughan, Oakville and Pickering all list PA day camps.

On a PA day, our climate-controlled gaming theatre parks at your home and a Game Coach runs the fun, so the kids are busy and you're not driving anywhere.
For the TDSB and TCDSB, the next PA day is Friday, November 20, 2026, for both elementary and secondary students. The one after that is Friday, January 15, 2027, for elementary students only. After that, Toronto's 2026-27 PA days are Feb 2 (secondary), Feb 12 (everyone) and June 4 (elementary). Elsewhere in the GTA, Peel, Durham and Hamilton schools and York elementary schools are off on Monday, October 26, 2026.
A PA (professional activity) day is a school day when students stay home while teachers and staff work on training, planning and report cards. Each Ontario school board sets its own PA days, so the dates differ between boards and often between elementary and secondary schools.
Each GTA board in this guide has 7 PA days for elementary and 7 for secondary in 2026-27. Two of them, September 2 and 3, 2026, fell before classes started, so families notice about 5 during the school year.
Yes. The Toronto District and Toronto Catholic boards share the same 2026-27 PA days: Nov 20, Feb 12 and June 30 for everyone, Jan 15 and June 4 for elementary, and Feb 2 and June 29 for secondary.
YRDSB and York Catholic share the same PA days: Oct 26 (elementary), Nov 20, Jan 15 (elementary), Feb 2 (secondary), May 3 (secondary) and Jun 4 (elementary), plus June 29 (secondary) and June 30 (everyone).
The Peel District and Dufferin-Peel Catholic boards share the same PA days: Oct 26, Nov 27 (elementary), Jan 18 (elementary), Feb 3 (secondary), Feb 12 and Jun 14 (elementary), plus June 29 and 30 for secondary students.
March Break 2027 is Monday, March 15 to Friday, March 19, 2027, for every public and Catholic board in the GTA. The Easter long weekend follows soon after, with no school on Good Friday (March 26) or Easter Monday (March 29).
Winter break runs from Monday, December 21, 2026 to Friday, January 1, 2027. The last day of classes is Friday, December 18, and students return on Monday, January 4, 2027.
Yes. Easter Monday (March 29, 2027) is a school holiday for all Ontario public and Catholic boards. It isn't a statutory holiday for most workplaces, so many parents still work that day.
Yes. Remembrance Day (Wednesday, November 11, 2026) is a regular school day in Ontario. Schools usually hold assemblies instead of closing.
For elementary students, the last day is Tuesday, June 29, 2027 at the TDSB, TCDSB, York, Durham and HWDSB boards, and Wednesday, June 30 at the Peel, Halton and Hamilton Catholic boards. High school students usually finish a few days earlier, after exams.
Popular options are PA day camps (like ROMKids at the Royal Ontario Museum, the Toronto Zoo's Big Day Off or the City's CampTO), an indoor outing to a trampoline park or climbing gym, or a playdate at home. Because PA days fall on weekdays, it's also an easy day to book a party or activity that would be full on a Saturday.
We checked every date against each board's official 2026-27 school year calendar on October 1, 2026, then double-checked each one in a second pass. A few schools run modified or balanced calendars with different dates, and secondary schools can shift a day for exams, so confirm with your school if you're unsure.
Gamers Getaway brings a climate-controlled video game theatre to your home anywhere in the GTA. Pick a package and an open weekday time online.
