We've run more than a thousand game truck parties across the GTA, from backyard birthdays to school events and camp days, and Hamilton is a regular stop. People call it a game truck, a gaming truck or a mobile game theatre; it's the same trailer, and the games and the Game Coach are the same wherever we park. Hamilton sits just outside the GTA, so the travel charge is a bit higher than our Toronto-area rates, but it's one flat rate across the city.

From the Mountain to the lower city
Hamilton is really a handful of communities, and we cover all of them: the Mountain, the lower city, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas, Waterdown and Binbrook. Getting up and down the escarpment isn't a problem for us, so a party at the top of the Mountain books the same as one downtown.
Parking tends to follow the age of the neighbourhood. The newer streets in Binbrook, Waterdown and on the Mountain usually have driveways that fit us; the older lower-city streets around Westdale, Kirkendall and Locke Street are narrower, so we often park on the road.

Will the truck fit in a Hamilton driveway?
Almost always. We need about 30 to 32 feet, roughly three car lengths, on a reasonably flat surface. Most driveways in the newer subdivisions on the Mountain, in Binbrook and in Waterdown take it comfortably. The older streets in the lower city, Westdale and around Locke Street can be tighter, in which case we park curbside instead. Send us a photo of the spot beforehand if you're unsure and we'll confirm.
Do you come to Stoney Creek, Ancaster and Waterdown?
Yes. On the booking form, pick Stoney Creek, Ancaster or Binbrook if you live there, and Hamilton for everywhere else, including Dundas, Waterdown and the Mountain. The travel charge works itself out from that.
Can you come to a Hamilton school, park or community centre?
Yes, and we do a lot of them: fun fairs, PA days, graduations and camp activity days for schools in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. For a Hamilton park or community centre, such as Gage Park or Bayfront Park, check with the City of Hamilton about vehicle access first; for a school, the principal or board facilities office can approve the spot. The party goes ahead. Everyone plays inside the climate-controlled trailer, so rain, heat and cold don't matter. The only thing guests need is a short walk from the house to the door.
Do I need to provide power or Wi-Fi?
No. We bring our own generator and our own internet, so nothing gets plugged into your house and the truck can park anywhere with enough flat space.
How early should I book a game truck in Hamilton?
Weekend afternoons from April to October go first, so aim for three to four weeks ahead for those. Weeknights and the winter months are easier, often with a week's notice. The booking calendar only shows open slots, so you'll see straight away what's still free.
What age is a video game truck party best for?
Six to sixteen is the sweet spot, and most Hamilton birthdays we run are eight to thirteen. Younger groups do fine because the Game Coach picks simpler titles like Mario Kart, Minecraft and Just Dance and keeps the rotation moving.
